Two Main Types of Hard Drive Failure

Logical Damage - Physically the drive is in working order, however, data is inaccessible. Common symptoms are:

  • Blue Screen
  • Drive not recognized
  • Accidental Re-Formatting / Deletion of Data

Physical Damage - The drive has ceased to function mechanically. Common types of failures are head crashes, seized bearings, or bad motor. Common symptoms are:

  • Clicking
  • Scratching
  • Platters fail to spin up

Our Process

  1. Evaluation - Determine exact failure of your drive(s) and recommend best course of action.
  2. Recovery - A recovery specialist will perform necessary repairs to restore function of your drive and perform data extraction on to one of our secure storage arrays.
  3. Media Transfer - Once the recovery is performed, your data will be transferred to media of your choosing. (i.e. CD, DVD, External Drive).
Service Levels

Standard Service - LWG Data Recovery will perform a comprehensive evaluation of your media to assess failure and determine whether a successful recovery will be possible. If hard drive data recovery is deemed possible and you elect to proceed, our recovery specialists will work during normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to ensure your data is recovered in a timely manner. Standard cases will then be recovered in the order in which they are received.

Express Service - For clients seeking expedited service, our express package allows cases to be placed at the top of the queue where it will be handled immediately by our recovery specialists. Hours of service are during normal business operations (8 a.m. to 5p.m.).

Weekend Service - For losses that require attention during Saturday and Sunday hours, our weekend service gives clients the option to have our recovery specialists continue recovery operations during 8 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. (Does not include holidays)

Emergency Service - This option is for clients with highly critical data requiring further business interruption to be minimized. Our recovery specialists will perform recovery operations around the clock (including holidays) until the recovery is finished.
